The dental insurance plans available in the US are basically a scam for adults because they have an annual maximum of $1-2k. You have to get a lot of cleanings before you even break even with the premium, and if something major happens you’re basically not even covered.
IMO you may as well just have that $1-2k saved up yourself and pay for your own dental appointments.
One or two models have increased in accuracy. Meanwhile all the grifters have caught on and there’s 1000x more AI companies out there that are just reselling ChatGPT with some new paint.
A Raspberry PI should be fine for direct play, but it doesn’t really have the processing power to transcode. Check to see which mode you’re in.
If you want the ability to live transcode, you’d probably have better luck with an old laptop or PC with a dedicated GPU (Even the lowest end ones have the same video encoding hardware in each generation, I use a GTX 1050).

If I owned a trailer I’d be so worried about this. There was a local story around here of someone who had their race car on a trailer hooked up to their truck at a hotel. When they woke up the trailer and car were gone. Idk if they ever found it… the race car was not registered.
It’s easy enough to throw a block of wood or something under the tire. They probably just aren’t thinking about it.
I work on my own car and I’m always paranoid about it shifting or rolling while I’m under it, so I double up on jack stands / wheel chocks / floor jack wherever I can.
I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m just stating that a broken unplayable game objectively has no value. The publisher has forced that value to 0 if they turn off their servers without support, regardless of if there was any value there before or not.
Edit: I realize we might be talking about different things when saying “stop supporting”. I meant that to mean when the servers are turned off, not when they stop releasing updates or delist it from stores.

Well yeah. Obviously the game losses value BECAUSE it’s not being supported anymore. There’s no value in a paperweight.
My understanding is that this would force games to be sold as either a good (lasts forever) or a service (lasts a specific, advertized amount of time). It does not prevent service games from existing, it just stops them being sold as goods with an unspecified expiration date. The problem is consumers are uninformed about the lifetime of the game they are purchasing.
I hope this customer is being charged for these orphaned systems. They’ll care more if it’s costing them money.

That’s kinda fucked up. Almost sounds like laws targeting homeless people living out of their cars. And for anyone else, why shouldn’t I be able to just tour around and look at sights without necessarily stopping anywhere? That’s basically what I do every weekend for fun.

The legal distinction in this case allows for distributing the software for example as source code, but not as a service.
I’ve done the same math recently and decided it would be cheaper just to pay myself and keep a bit of savings around for anything extra. I could not find a plan that would pay out more than $2k in a year, and that’s not even a month of rent some places.
