Since the method is encryption of the notes folder, I would consider it to be one
I joined Lemmy back in 2020 and have been using it as qaz@lemmy.ml until somewhere in 2023 when I switched to lemmy.world. I’m interested in Linux, FOSS, and several other subjects.
Since the method is encryption of the notes folder, I would consider it to be one
This is a security risk! Some note taking apps store data outside of the notes directory (e.g. Logseq)
I find it quite difficult to properly define the differences between the two.
The handling is enforced by one while the other may be unknown to the person who calls the function. I think that’s a pretty clear difference.
Numeric .xyz domains only cost $1 a year. They’re not great for things like mail because they’re often used by spammers (probably because of the price), but it’s great for cheap signed DNS hostnames.
I point it to the server on my local network and use Wireguard to connect myself.
It’s great for explaining entry level information on a wide variety of topics. More advanced / obscure topics are more prone to hallucinations. I used it to learn React and it was a great introduction.
I’ve played this a lot with my friends in high school. I can definitely recommend it.
Deposit guarantee schemes (DGS) reimburse up to a certain amount to compensate depositors whose bank has failed. A fundamental principle underlying DGS is that they are funded entirely by banks, and that no taxpayer funds are used.
It works by having a central fund to back the money that qualifies for the deposit guarantee, however said funds only contains 0,8% of covered deposits. Although this might seem small, this is still a large amount of capital (~40 billion euro), and should be able to cover all deposits during a major financial crisis (like 2008) according to this research (ECB funded).
I’ve heard that from plenty of people
Wifi networks may add popup pages by man in the middeling connections to unsecured sites. However, it’s very uncommon to see an unsecured site and people therefore won’t see the popup which grants them access after agreeing to the terms of use of the network.
Yes, it uses ActivityPub with the ForgeFed extension.
Ehh, it’s better than “the person who can stay in the circle the longest wins 1 million”
Because they insisted on using the inferior lightning connector instead of using USB C like everyone else.
Thank you for the very detailed response
I also use this and can recommend it
I didn’t know that, could you give an example?
It’s a mobile app for server monitoring that doesn’t require installations on the server.
Also, is this tone really necessary?
The server-side software is optional and only for push notifications and home screen widgets
Yes, plain text was more of an analogy
It’s E2EE therefore you can’t just use an IMAP server that works with “plaintext” data.
I don’t think you need graphics acceleration for the terminal
