This has come up with a few users, I think it’s a known bug in the current version of Lemmy but I can’t find the GitHub issue right now

It’s actually recommended by a lot of profs now where I am, which is really nice

They overhauled the UI recently and it looks nice and modern too

I found it to be more than I needed. I still have it installed, but use localsend more often

I believe you can also look at the instance modlog and filter by community. Maybe try that?

This is part of the problem for me. I can’t dismiss the popup unless I hang up, and I don’t want to do that in case my number gets marked as “active”.

So I sit there and wait till I can use it again.

Canada, we face the same issues as the US for telecom stuff

I don’t think anyone answers the phone now, unless they recognize the number.

Most of the calls I get are

• spam
• spam
• someone sent me a time sensitive message, so they ring me once to respond faster
• spam

Which makes me think they won’t do that, at least until they realize their current plan won’t work out in the long run. So far they’ve been going in the opposite direction by locking down everything:

• killing off third party apps
• making it difficult to access on old Reddit or mobile web
• only letting search engines index the site if they pay
• talk of paywalling subreddits

While not unhelpful, stop-drop-and-roll and quicksand don’t come up as often as we thought back then

It is a good question, I had the same when I first heard about it.

I think lots of people keep both installed:

• the default one is good for managing server related things
• this one is good for daily use, especially for any other users you might have

What I liked:

• feels much faster and smoother
• UI is nice and clean
• download manager works nicely, as another user mentioned. You don’t need to open a separate app to play the files

That might be my bad, I saw an update notification and it may have been Droid-ify.
