I’ve only worked for about a year as coder. I’ve used LLM extensively for work. I kinda feel bad that I might be lazying out on actually learning how to do it myself.

In Korean we have these conjugated forms. They both sound the same:

1. 나아 [na.a] (from 낫다) be/become better
2. 낳아 [na.a] (from 낳다) give birth (to a baby)

So when given A as an example:

(A) 감기에 걸렸어요. I got a cold.
(B) 빨리 나으세요! Hope you get better soon!
© 빨리 낳으세요! Hope you give birth soon!

For some reason Koreans across all ages write C instead of B by mistake. It became a national joke at this point and some do it ironically on purpose. I used to teach Korean. Imagine my face every time.

Confusing between hay‐ay is at least understandable (forgetting the letter). Confusing between hay-ahí is what makes my blood boil.

Its very ingrained on me that a proper business should be able to spare a few on a domain for themselves, as I remember it before the dot-com bubble.

Now? Websites have been displaced by social media altogether and many small business simply prefer having an Instagram profile, for example.

Yeah, that’s what happens, something cool but that’s it. It would be nice if l could use it for something else other than a glorified online resume.

I also bought a cheap domain for experimenting around, so that’s where all my “not so professional” stuff goes.

Generational thing, maybe? Plus conservative churches love holding onto archaic customs, like the old KJV translation.

What about people with glasses? Can the legs round part be adjusted without pressing against the glasses frames?

If we’re being really pedantic, the last part in Korean is counted with different units:

• 각 as precomposed character: 1자 (unit ja for CJK characters)
• 각 (ㄱㅏㄱ) as decomposable components: 3자모 (unit jamo for Hangul components)

So we could have separate implementations of length() where we count such cases with different criteria… But I wouldn’t expect non-speakers of Korean know all of this.

Plus, what about Chinese characters? Are we supposed to count 人 as one but 仁 as one (character) or two (radicals)? It gets only more complicated.

Phone numbers and SMS should never have been involved with user authentication beyond simple contact info. Smartphones really ruined it.

Not every community made the move. Tech related ones are definitely here, not so much for games or anything in humanities unless we’re counting very small communities. But it’s a start.

What about Yunohost? Its made for newbies getting into selfhosting and has Jitsi support.

On top of that, being a minority alone can be a huge disadvantage.

I’d rather have a text-only instance with no media at all. Can this be done?
