ive been off facebook for quite a while now but when i was still on it, id unfollowed just about any real-life bullshit and was exclusively engaging in private groups featured around special interests. i ended up doing the same with reddit & a private sub before leaving, i enjoy recognizing usernames.

ideally id be using signal but hardly anyone is willing to use it because most people don’t care. between sms & something owned by meta, for example, im not entirely sure which is less bad

ive had this discussion with a few different people actually, and at least from where im standing, it does seem like sms is making a comeback. i have to admit i prefer it when it comes to messaging people i know irl

tbh i’ve been so sick of reddit lately that i’ve been spending time on 4chan again, which is really saying something

agreed actually, ive been feeling progressively less comfortable using reddit for a long while now & all this just reinforces it.

this is what im expecting too, which is why im trying the migration thing rather than just sticking to desktop/browser-only. might as well stay ahead of them

It’s a bit more complicated than what I’m used to but I’m actually really enjoying learning more about how it works. I’ve been largely checked out of all but a handful of obscure subreddits for a while now
