I was gonna make a joke that it’s also an idea that’s on so many street corners and coffee cups. However after googling I found out that it’s a siren on the Starbucks logo and not a mermaid. My joke fails on both humour and fact.

I know it’s absolute schlock but I’d give anything to watch Infinity War for the first time again.
I just loved it and still do but man …
Yeah, almost every review is along the lines of “this is a technical marvel” to “and now it’s sitting on the shelf awaiting a purpose”.
Through VR, Apple was “at least seemingly” going to move from games being the primary use to office work, but every review I’ve seen has been lackluster for that. You can do cool things but it’s missing a lot of features like the screen sharing and stuff.
It seems to fall into the “solution looking for a problem” category.
Same year!
Mavis Beacon teaches typing. BBSs. Cassette tapes with the pencil. I had a Spectrum that used cassettes before I got my Amiga 500.
I actually still like some LTT videos. I just find the thumbnails off-putting … so unless the topic interests me I don’t typically watch anymore.
I really enjoyed the Emily/Anthony bits too.
Phind.com is pretty good for programming stuff, it’s AI but it cites it’s sources.
“most evil company in the gaming industry”
EA backs away slowly
Btw, we all love Valve and the Steam Deck but Valve ain’t clean either.
YUP! I’m sorry, Apple earned more money than Spotify purely based on their airpod market. I refuse to believe otherwise.
If they truly cared about repairability/maintainability they’d give me a headphone jack phone with a replaceable module in case it wears down.
I freaking hate dongles, I always have one when I don’t need one and can never find one when I don’t. They randomly don’t work or I don’t know if this AliExpress one I bought is actually stealing my data. Just give a built-in jack, please!
Similar to me. Previous job we tried our best to squeeze any ounce of optimisation out of it. Mainly because I was on the SEO team and we had to focus on the core web vitals. Everything was deferred and every image was optimised.
New job, we don’t even have any metrics.
I don’t watch much Completionist stuff but he really seemed like he was reading a script written by a lawyer for this “response”. As well as, looking increasing angry.
I had a boozy lunch yesterday. Well, no actual food. I just drank lots. Then I walked an hour home and slept my Saturday away. What a waste.
I woke up at midnight and it’s like 7am now. Can’t go back to sleep and head isn’t really hurting but it’s not great either.
I’m too old for this.
The Cold Takes videos makes me feel like I’m getting some scotch and sitting down and listening to an old friend talk about games in a 1950s detective style bar.
Ah you broke my heart. Clear indication that I’m drifting more into management every day :(
I think if it’s actually related to tech it’s fine. For example, I read an article from DHH talking about how Musk’s strategy has saved money by moving from Cloud to on-prem and doing it cut massive costs.
I think that’d be okay?
Yup, exact tip I was gonna write!
I have them commented out and highlight the COMMIT when I’m ready.
Unity bailed itself out eh?

Try holding the phone (or computer screen) further away. That’s what helps me.
Is ebike theft an issue? I’m paranoid about my push bike that I have no idea how I’d leave an ebike out.
I worked for a major investment bank and one of their exotics trading teams was basically all add-ons and stuff built on top of Excel.
To be fair, the traders looked like Wizards using it, it was pretty neat.
