What are everyone’s thoughts on bots like piped bot and tdlr bot
I don’t mind them. If I did I’d block them.

Closest I’ve come to Mad Scientist was probably yeast ranching to control costs in homebrewing.
It was a lot of fun and instead of one 5gal batch of beer from an exotic $20 yeast sample you could get as many as you wanted. In practice I usually did 5-10 cultures from each pure sample. Could do more than that but there was a limit to how much stuff I could sterilize in my “autoclave” at one time.
Edited to add: I successfully cultured yeast from hefeweizen, but since what’s in the bottle is typically for secondary/priming rather than primary it was only for fun. I had 100% failure trying to harvest wild yeast from the air or sampled from fruit skins. I couldn’t isolate the yeast from other critters.
I have driven and found joy in many cars: Pinto, beetle, 2CV, original 500s, 1940s Ford tractors, beater pickups including a 1949 International, HMMWV, etc. Mopeds (like 1970s Puch), ratty motorcycles. They all make me giggly.
I had to think a few minutes about one that was just terrible, no redeeming points I could find: first (north american) gen Hyunda Excel What a soul-sucking turd.
Main advantage I’ve found in unmixed workgroups is less (no) fighting over the thermostat
Like any other automated tool, I’d want them to master the manual skills first.
With math and calculators first we show we can do it longhand then get the calc. Show you can search and assess sources first then incorporate AI.

I’ve got a kindle keyboard 3 and want to know if there’s anything better out now
Better in what way?
KK3 + calibre is hard to beat. I own a paperwhite and some kind of nook (thrift store pickup for $10) and prefer the K3 experience the most. I typically end up using the paperwhite more because I am often in low-light conditions.
When these die my perfect ereader would be
Do you prefer digital or physical books?
Digital. I live in 76ft2 and can no longer store thousands of physical books like I did in a “sticks and bricks” house. But there are ~13,000 easily stored between the e-ink kindle and waiting in the wings in calibre.
Reading is a big part of my retirement plan.
It’s more likely that a Google data center exists in 100 years than your house.
Yes, but it’s more likely that Google will have killed a particular service like Drive. Cf. Google Reader, Hangouts, Data Saver extension, Buzz, etc.
I emerged from a blackout drunk sitting in a classroom; it was the last hour of the GRE (graduate record exam). I was reeking of alcohol and I remember feeling sorry for the poor bastards seated next to me. I finished and walked directly across the hallway to the bathroom and vomited a while.
I’d gone to a bar the night before for one dollar draft beer; I had $2, so 1 beer + tip. I don’t know exactly what happened but later heard people thought it would be funny to buy me drinks before the exam and I was too young/dumb not to accept.
The most bizarre part of the story is I scored a dead-average score on the exam.
Forgetting many others but just having first cup of coffee
The Bridge (Sweden/Denmark, not the America/Mexico remake).
I bailed on the America/Mexico one, but tne the UK/France version is worth watching for Clemence Poesy’s performance.
Murderbot, but I don’t think it could make the transition to film.
I have little dance moves that I like to use when walking around the office. Little turn on heel here, stand on tiptoe there, round the corner in a fluid motion, balance on one leg, little jump, etc.
You might enjoy the 1996 Japanese film Shall We Dance?. The protagonist is taking ballroom dancing lessons in secret but when walking around the office subtle dance-inspired moves creep in. :-)
I am off griding running off solar
This would have been useful to mention in the original post.
just got a bluetti eb3a to manage panel power since
We have very little control over what the solar does with “power stations”. I’d just leave the panels plugged in.
I’ve never done any solar before
