I am looking forward to the massive population plunge… as is the rest of the earth. Hopefully, with less humans we can have better social programs and more earth friendly usage of resources.
Your average gay, married, software developer.

All of the Metroid games. Those are a blast.
Yeah, there are literally ads everywhere on the screen and to me feels cluttered compared to the simple row of games PS5 has.
The backlog of the PS4 is one of the single best backlogs of any system. It will take you years to work through that backlog and the games will be cheaper too since they aren’t new releases anymore. If I were you, I would take her up on the offer and buy the PS4. The PS five will be where the new games go, but those same new games will have a large price tag.
This describes me perfectly. As an example, I have had Skyrim since the original release and never beat it. I enjoyed playing around in the world until I went on to other things. I can always go back and play some more when I want. I like having a large world there for me to explore and interact with on my own time.
I use the official Mastodon app. It’s pretty good, stable, and fast.
There is a mega thread over on kbin.social:
Diablo 4 was just released and it supports cross play and is a very good game that is being actively updated to be even better.
It’s weird for sure. Like an uncanny valley cartoon.
Zuckerburg is a better guy than Musk. I don’t praise either of them but at least Zuckerberg ran Facebook with some sincerity. Elon Musk is all talk and power trips and goes after Twitter user’s employers to silence critics.
Agreed. Same here.
Yuck, I just looked up his statements about that. Yeah, I don’t know if I will be playing FFXVI. There are plenty of games that don’t have that problem. Diablo 4 is a good example.
Yeah, they are more like “story games with combat”.
A good example is that many of main numbered Final Fantasy games did not make it to the West until the retro releases years later. A lot of the Dragon Quest games shared the same fate.
I noticed this in the 90s and 2000s. The Japanese perception of Western tastes was massively different than actual Western tastes. There were a lot of games that never made it here because they thought we would not like it and it later turned out to be a hit.
There was a time JRPG meant anime characters and clicking through lots of text to get through the story. Also, the “role playing” portion of the story usually went around characters that were hard wired into the game with no customization beyond their name. That’s changing for a lot of games, but the classic JRPG still survives. Maybe the classic kind of JRPG just needs a new name to avoid “othering”.
The Apple Arcade program is nice. I recently download the TMNT game from there and it is pretty fun.
Why even go through this crap? They already know that data caps provide no advantage to the customer so why would any sane person defend them? They are just providing room for fake responses.
It’s up to you to give your life meaning. Just because things suck, doesn’t mean it’s time to throw in the towel. Imagine the Bronze Age humans, who were getting killed over idols and and some random warlord’s whims. They persisted in the face of adversity so we exist today. Imagine the lives of the enslaved, raped, and oppressed native Americans and Africans in the face of Spanish rule in South America. They persisted with no clear future freedom in sight.
I could go on about humans facing horrible situations but my point is this: throughout history we have always faced a dark situation as a result of other human actions but we always found a reason to persist… or even fight back.
