First thing I do once I’ve checked into the workplace is to itemize what I’d like to get done today. And I list a bunch but they’re priorities and not requirements. So I have 8 on the list knowing I’ll only do 3 and then 5 will carry.

If you’re suggesting different, then I’d point you to the word ‘exception’, and also suggest that HR has an image problem deeply rooted in a conflict of interest that it needs to solve. And if it wants to support the workers it will need to be funded by the workers to remove that conflict, and once it supports and is supported by the workers in a group, it’s a union.

I’d look over the server install if the process had docs.

I looked at matrix but the server setup was janky – enamoured of the current mayfly shine tools, and when I saw mumble install cleanly on my tiny arm box it was a sea change. No longer have the tiny arm box but I still run mumble.

I’d be super happy if it and its polite codecs were brought into the fed but I haven’t been paying attention.

And I agree: it’s better. I think it’s faster and that, IMHO, is where the power is. It can look boring like a hammer as long as it’s intuitive … like a hammer.

Years ago I got a disc called Sounds of Slashdot. It was at a con, I think.

Anyway it’s got some “gamemaster” “lost tribe” thing among some musical tracks on the CD. I have No Idea what it is, but I put it on and the sounds fucks with distractions and I can enter the Flow more easily for work. It’s a great trigger.

I need to find more of that.
