I mean also it just seems like a case of normalization. You start out with slow meaningless MTX then you move it more and more. Hell its a bit odd since I’m glad there was some outrage over the MTX in this game but as you said its most likely due to the increase to $70 usd which is a slap in the face to deal with MTX in a fucking single player game but Capcom is one of the shittiest companies when it comes to dumb/pointless MTX.

Monster Hunter, Devil may cry, Dead Rising, and Resident Evil all have this kind of shit with very little peeps about it. Depends. In some ways you are correct but in other ways not so much. We like to think in the digital age once its up, its up forever. In theory yes but in some ways no since we have already seen in recent memory. Hell the popularity of lemmy and the fedeverse was kicked off because many of us left reddit, lead to many of us basically deleting/editing our prior comments. Someone can possibly have a snapshot of it but the chances of it are pretty small for some weird random obscure post on a forum. Our reliance on free services can easily lead to something disappearing as easily as it appeared. Yeah if you want to use an obscure feature like steam console to get the latest verison or using beta to get an older verison, instead of you know releasing a fucking separate steamid for a game that is reporting itself as a “Sequel” and don’t get me started with them piggy backing off of CSGO’s reviews. Imagine if some game like Supreme Commander did that bullshit. Where you had the beloved first game and welp with the sequel out we should all replace it so it can use the same reviews even though the 2nd game was universally panned. People fucking play CS 1.6 and Source still would it be right if they were just disappeared as well but able to be pulled up via download some obscure Steam depot. Hell I have an even better one Half life 1, very loved game but Half Life 1 Source an apparently upgrade that was fucking garbage at launch and still garbage to this day. Would it have been right for Valve to say if you bought the default way to play Half life 1 now is via source only. Noone with a working brain would want that.

You are choosing to blame people who are getting exploited. Either firstly they are being hired under the table to do this work under the market rate. Wouldn’t this be the fault of the employer then. If we had an illegal immigration problem it is because there is a clear market for people who provide for them and it ain’t only the democrats. I mean it could be an act but to be fair typically to be “entertaining” can take some focus away from the game when the observers only really can focus on the game and the entertainer, which are far more passive activities. I find I do far worse in games when chilling in Discord since I am not focusing exclusively on the game, obviously there are some types of games where having teammates does improve your capabilities but I’m referring to if I’m playing a singleplayer game while in a chat or playing a multiplayer game but still chitchatting in a channel.

I mean for people who aren’t influencers it doesn’t make much sense. For influencers, even though some people hate twitter or whatever its called now it is the place with one of the largest presences/userbases around. Many influencers use that to their advantage to grow their own userbase. Some influencers can move over and maybe convert some of their audiences over but realistically you need a very big player to do it beforehand.

Your point was it doesn’t have PVE. I’m not here to defend their shit PVE* and I even make a point to say it is fucking scummy they killed their OG game for this garbage but lets at least deal with facts right now. At the moment, there are none of the archive level. Which is super silly. So you only get 3 missions with some cutscenes with them.

Which in a weird way is an ethical way to make porn with no “exploitation” involved with the process and there will always be a market for the “real” thing for the market. Now the AI art people can be incredibly thirsty but I do feel it is a bit reductive to say its mostly only for porn when the applications of it can be quite useful especially for hobbyists (who I feel aren’t profiting solely on those creations). I see great use for generative “art” for tabletop in terms of character sheets/custom monsters/settings/ and even maps. AI art isn’t necessarily a bad thing its just the fear of what large corporations will do with it that is really the scary part (also bullshit scammers who steal X artists work and try to resell it as that artist)

I mean to be fair even though corporations fucking suck. Most commercial leases are typically longer than what you would do for residential. So it can range from 3-10 ish years(3-5 seems to be a common number). There is always the option to exit them early but there are typically pretty costly negatives to doing that.

The playtests were streamed/vod’ed. Its only 15 bucks and there is no secret monetization. Its just a return of simplicity. Once people got the ball rolling, its a bit hard to stop. This isn’t to say its not a flawed game since honestly the progression sucks and there needs to be a bit more balancing since its tiring to see the same 4 or 5 guns over and over again.

I mean its just a shooter that follows in the footsteps of wolfenstein/doom with very maze like designs with a reliance of colored key(cards), secrets in walls, where you are typically holding your whole arsenal at once. I wouldn’t really call BF1942 a boomer shooter or any of the older BF games part of the genre, which is mostly mirroring.
