I can’t avoid the ads on tv so I just mute it and read something else for a few minutes.

And the advertisers seem to not care about context. I’ll be watching some awful disaster documentary then an ad for, say, detergent will pop up. Now I associate your product with a terrible event. The bombarding too. Do they think if I didn’t switch car insurance the first 100 times I saw the ad the 101st will do the trick? And I don’t buy the “some people may be seeing it for the first time” excuse. The ads were every few minutes.
It is like “vote for” signs. If you vote based on a sign you shouldn’t be voting.
The posting essentially says there is no risk than tosses out mercury and lead vapors which don’t exist in a HDD. Then it talks about the lead in solder. You’d have to vigorously rub and handle the solder on circuit boards to get any amount on your skin worth worrying about and then you just wash your hands. That risk is true of all boards that don’t use low or lead free solder. The whole comment is very hypothetical.
If your hard drive has dust it would’ve failed a long time ago. They are designed to be extremely clean. The head is like a 747 flying an inch above the ground. It sounds like an urban myth to scare people.
I used to collect AOL cds. I had a stack a few feet high. I was going to make some sort of artwork out of them.
the primary causes for attraction is proximity
This is what is behind “office hot”. You work with someone 40+ hrs a week who is even average looking and they start to grow on you. You can definitely be attracted to briefly seeing someone too though. I’ve seen woman briefly that have left me flustered for the rest day.
I can say for certain, as a straight guy, I have no crushes on my guy friends. Female friends? You have the thought pass through your head at some point but nothing I’d consider a serious thought.
If you like eating, speaking and not being in pain I strongly recommend it.
I don’t know why FB won’t let us block that crap. If I didn’t care about wordle before do they think pounding me with it 24/7 is going to make me change my mind?
Can we feed chunks of reddit into it too?
How would I know what people’s wordle scores are then?
From a purely practical standpoint…
My health insurance when so many people have shitty or none. My wife’s nasty shoulder infection is finally healing after weeks of doctor’s visits and cutting into it.
My dental insurance when I bust a tooth.
This requires a ridiculous amount of work and expertise, the average person can’t do this. I also question how trustworthy these apps are and that they aren’t data harvesting or opening security holes.
News sites are the worst offenders for “lets cram as much shit on the screen as humanly possible”. The last 80% of the screen is click bait trash. Videos chase you constantly and pop ups begging for your email always harass you. I fill in the email with “admin@{their domain}”
