Darkstar One. And it is just now getting rereleased, so it doesn’t count.
So instead, I’ll pick The Legend of Dragoon on PSX. Such a fun RPG that really needs revisited.

Persona. I’ve had conversations with friends after playing P4 or P5 for awhile where I wondered what response would max out my confidant points with them.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how Metroid II really did the groundwork for what Super Metroid perfected? I don’t think SM would have flown to the heights it has had Metroid II not taken the risks it did.
Edit: this wasn’t intended as a reply to a comment and should have been it’s own comment!
It really was a masterwork in that regard. I really see a lot of the creative genius of that era revolving around working around hardware limitations. Metroid II really did make me rethink what the Game Boy was really capable of back then. How it managed to play so well when the Castlevania games struggled to resemble their NES counterparts really told a pretty telling story in its own right.
Edit: that is a lot of "really"s.
It really was the most ambitious game on the Game Boy. And that final boss battle…

I’d argue Echoes was better in just about every way. It built on everything they made Prime great, while managing to improve on the things that needed improved. I love the whole Prime trilogy, but Echoes felt like it was the best in the series.
Obviously, That Heresy Elicits Ruinous Memories!
I would, but I’m not even supposed to be here today.
“Whatevers” in GenX.
My friend in grammar school had a Leap Day birthday and his parents’ solution was that his birthday was celebrated “the day after February 28th”.
Same. Being annoyed by excessive ads is a surefire way for me to blacklist a product or company. Particularly obnoxious ads can do it with just a single exposure.
I won’t ever buy a car from Frank Lita because of how obnoxious their ads are.
It’s even more crazy to consider the entire filesize for Vagrant Story is around 100mb. It’s incredibly economical for what it achieves.
Knights Field series. I never could get into them back in the day, but I’ve been on a retro kick with my Anbernic and got sucked into them. Ended up putting 20 hours so far into the English translation of the first Japanese KF.
Also, Vagrant Story. Pretty much same scenario where I rented it back in the day and bounced off the combat for not making any sense to me. Tried it recently and really dig it. The combat system is really quite clever once you understand it.
I feel that. It is still the game I have logged the most time with, which considering I’ve got about 1,300 hours in Elite Dangerous is kinda scary. Between the original Xbox, PC, and Xbox One BC, I’ve got about 1,800 hours in it. Thoroughly enjoyed breaking every aspect of Morrowind.
Dude… try rural Illinois. The only internet I can get faster than 3mbps is cellular hotspot, and that’s supposed to be 5G but is usually actually 4G out here. That’s it. I can get dial-up, DSL, cable that is somehow slower than DSL and constantly disconnects, or hotspot from AT&T.
America is far from the best example of decent internet access if you live more than a few miles from a major urban hub. In fact, in rural areas, your options are not only stupidly limited, but also criminally expensive. For land-based internet at 3mbps where I live costs $6 more per month than my sister-in-law’s GB Fiber 20 miles away, and has data caps to boot. It’s insane.
It’s edgier 2G for an edgier generation.
If you like Privateer, check out Double Damage Games “Rebel Galaxy: Outlaw”. Excellent game with a lot of sadly lost potential due to the dev being run out of game development by hostile and entitled “gamers”.
