What do I use this for? Do I install it on my NAS or my gaming pc?
My best guess is this is a self hosted network storage for games and other computers run the games from there? Or do they download the game from there? Is it a way to store game saves? Does it have any use for emulators like yuzu?
Sorry for all the questions, I’m only asking because the software looks really interesting but I just can’t figure out its uses.
Now replace my eyes with this.
Have you heard of MIDI2?
I think the music version would be MIDI.
Which is why I wanted to include video in my concept because video file sizes are getting out of control.
That is cool.
You wouldn’t use it if you didn’t want to, but I actually think family photos are great for this. The focus is family in the photo, not what the background details are. Not a lot of people care how many tree tops are in a graduation photo. Our memories work the same by storing the most important parts in the best detail, and redrawing other details when accessing the memory. And as handheld computation improves it will be a small task to render each image on view.
But the satisfaction of crawling back into bed knowing you won’t have to get up for hours.
I’ve come to find comfort in the idea of being in a simulation. At least then someone’s watching, and maybe cares.
I am just finishing up with having covid. This time it was a war in my nose. I noticed I can smell my dog again today.
That’s a cable standard. Imagine being stuck with usb 1.
PC parts can’t even go few years without losing backwards compatibility (e.g. cpu sockets changing every few years). Last thing I need is for my physical body to incompatible with the newest and best stuff because I got a permanent implant when the tech wasn’t as evolved. This will always be the problem with invasive technology in my opinion.
They don’t need another machine to tell them their flooding.
They have official community apps now that they do themselves, and it’s amazing. I’ve switched all my apps over and I’ve had no problems since.
It wouldn’t be weird to land bugs if they had that tasty meat crustaceans do. I’m big for alternative sources of protein like bugs, but the fact is they taste like shit.
Plex has to be one thing where I like the bloat. It makes it feel like a fully featured streaming service that I control instead of just a fancy looking video folder.
Meta machines on my system offer data. Infra machines on my system run the network (infrastructure). But my favourite is naming all my HDD’s platters; Media Platters, Service Platters, etc.
It started with me running plex on my PC. Now I have a server room with multiple systems always running. It still feels like magic.
